About the course

CompTIA Security+ certification is for those candidates aiming to make a career in IT and become a professional who has all the necessary networking and administrative skills in various protocols like TCP or IP networks. The candidate will also become familiar with operating systems, such as macOS, Unix, or Linux. This course is mandatory for those who want to acquire foundational knowledge of security aspects.



This course teaches you about core aspects such as;

● Monitor and secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, and IoT
● Operate with an awareness of applicable laws and policies, including principles of governance, risk, and compliance

Eligibility




There are no specific eligibility criteria to take up this certification but it is recommended that candidates take the Network+ certification before taking the Security+ course and two years of experience in IT administration with a security focus.

Why should you take the security+ certification exam?

According to Cyber Risk Analytics, the year 2019 and 2020 saw more than 5,500 publicly disclosed breaches with more than 8.7 billion records exposed. But more than 60% of the time, the breaches that happened were the result of human errors, highlighting the importance of an increasing need for cybersecurity education, as well as highly skilled and trained cybersecurity professionals.

Exam Information

The exam comprises of 90 Multiple choice and performance-based questions out of which the candidate needs to score 750 (on a scale of 100-900) to pass the exam.

CompTIA Security+ certification exams can now be taken via Pearson VUE (online or In-Person).

The total duration of the exam is 90 minutes.

In the event that you fail your first (1st) attempt to pass any CompTIA certification examination, CompTIA does not require any waiting period between the first (1st) and second (2nd) attempt to pass such examination. However, before your third (3rd) attempt or any subsequent attempt to pass such examination, you shall be required to wait for a period of at least fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of your last attempt to pass such examination.

CompTIA Security+ Certification is valid for 3 years from the date certified.
